Produce a report on the recent operational process and supply chain changes made by the Scottish Leather Group (https://www.scottishleathergroup.com/) to stay competitive and grow and explore the next phase of challenges that could impact their business model.
To address this task you are required to produce at least the following analysis:
- Analyse and map (detailed) the organisation’s processes, main customers, and supply chain network, identifying the key operational characteristics/ processes or supply chain activities that have kept the company successful to date.
- Critically analyse how the business was impacted over the past 10 years by the operational challenges, including Sustainability and changes in customer expectations, and identify the investments made to achieve these.
- Has there been any change in the operational priorities: Hills’ Winners/Qualifiers?
- Identify and explore one environment challenge for the operations that lies ahead and indicate how the company might develop a response - may require process changes/new technologies that must be illustrated on a revised process map, and investments to deliver the capability. Note – this should not be simply new product development based. In this report it is the operational process to deliver any new product line that is of interest.

This is an applied case investigation. A detailed investigation and use of company data related to the Scottish Leather Group is required. A descriptive or literature-based approach to the situation analysis, or general concepts will not achieve a pass for this assignment.

Your work must be fully supported with evidence from research, both academic theory and company research.
This assignment should be a demonstration of analytical capability using operational models and literature from the module. The issues involved in the analysis are all based on Business and Operations Management methods which should be demonstrated in application with specific case company data throughout.
