BRIEF - YOUR TASK

Personal Reflective Portfolio: (100% – 4000 words)

Submission Deadline: 20/12/2024 (Before 2 PM)

In this assignment, you are required to explore a specific leadership or career-related behaviour that impacts your personal and professional growth. Start by reflecting on your leadership style, preferences, and challenges using tools like personality tests and feedback. Identify key skill(s) or behavioural issue(s) to focus on and connect it to broader leadership themes. Conduct a concise literature review to understand this issue in depth, supported by credible academic sources. Finally, develop a practical, evidence-based action plan using the SMART framework to address the issue and enhance your leadership potential. Use appendices to include any supporting materials, such as test results or feedback summaries. Your Personal Reflective Portfolio might include the following sections:

Introduction:

This section may include:

  • What are your leadership/career/work-related aspirations
  • Why we need to keep developing
  • What skill are you looking at/focussing on
  • Why that skill is important within a personal development/business context

Literature Review:

  • Discuss the issue(s) you want to explore
  • Make sure that while it’s an exploration of a behavioural issue (e.g. perfectionism) weave the connection back to leadership.
  • You may choose to focus on two interconnected topics (e.g., the interaction between a high neuroticism score and stress). However, it is important to maintain focus and avoid diverging into too many areas. A broader analysis, such as a mind map or similar framework, can be included in the appendix. This could serve as a valuable resource for your ongoing development.

Development Plan:

  • Your action plan should relate to the issues identified
  • Actions selected should be, to some extent, backed up by evidence
  • The plan should seem reasonable – perhaps put them in a time context. We are not going to change behavioural patterns overnight.
  • Perhaps use a SMART model (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound)

Appendix:
The appendix can be used as a resource to capture description. This will not count to your word count but may be used to describe incidents in a little more detail, experiences or common quotes you have heard. (See my example).

References and Citations
Ensure that you reference all sources using the Harvard-Hull system and incorporate academic journal references to support your arguments. Properly cite all sources used in the report. Header and Word Count

Submission Deadline
Submit your report no later than 2 pm on December 20th, 2024. Be aware that even a slight delay past the deadline will be considered a late submission.
