In the next phase of the onboarding process of your new role, you are required to prepare a 15-minute presentation that displays performance management techniques for continuous improvement in your chosen organisation. This will be followed with the creation of an individually created motivational strategy.
A motivational strategy is a plan that considers a range of financial and non-financial incentives that supports both successful and unsuccessful performance.
Business activities
The presentation should address the following areas:
- An introduction to motivational theories (i.e. Maslow, Herzberg, Vroom, McClelland, etc), including content and process, performance management and continuous improvement.
- Review of the application of various motivation and performance management approaches.
- Assessment of leadership and management approaches and theories, including their role in supporting performance.
- Recommendations of how the above could improve continuous improvement and performance.
You will produce an individual, comprehensive motivational strategy that considers both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation alongside social, cultural, and organisational variables. The strategy should be supported with appropriate literature. It should be clear how the strategy supports the achievement of organisational objectives. In the strategy, ensure there is clear links between the strategy and enhanced organisational performance in relation to the chosen business.
