Assessment Brief for Coursework 2: Individual Literature Review Report (C0% of overall mark)

What is required:

You are required to conduct a brief literature review based on your own individual idea for a research project.The report is an individual piece of work, with a wordcount of 2000 words.The topic must be relevant to your programme area and of interest to you so that it can be used for your Master Research Project.Please use the Academic Research Engines suggested in the seminars by your tutors to carry out your report.

It is essential that the report is a genuine piece of work, for this reason it is a requirement that screenshots of literature searches within the recommended search engines are included as appendices in the report.

Purpose:

The purpose of the assessment is to demonstrate your ability to carry out a systematic and critical literature review.This will help you justify the need for your research project as well as understand secondary research data collection, analysis and report writing.

The report can be good practice for the Master Research Project which you will have to carry out to complete your studies, so you are advised to choose a topic that can be used in your project.

Format:

The report needs to be submitted as a Word document. Further details will be given on formatting the report in week 4.

The same assessment applies to distance learning students and deadline will be communicated.

Marking Criteria
