ASSIGNMENT TASK

Many multinational enterprises (MNEs) encounter difficulties in managing human resources effectively in foreign markets because they underestimate the impact of cultural, legal, and institutional differences. This lack of understanding leads to misaligned HR practices, which can hinder organizational performance and employee engagement in diverse global settings. (Liu & Wang, 2023 : 927).

Select a relevant Multinational Enterprise (MNE) of your choice. Critically discuss and analyse these five variables that influence the differences between domestic and international HRM. It is essential that you use relevant examples from your chosen MNE, to illustrate each variable effectively.

  1. The cultural environment
  2. The industry(ies) within which the MNE is mostly involved
  3. Complexity caused by operating in different countries and having employees from different countries
  4. Attitudes of senior management
  5. How much the MNE relies on the home-country domestic market

Students should be aware that this assignment requires the integration of the major themes of the module. Student skills such as researching materials, analysing, synthesising and critically evaluating the application of theory in practice will be assessed.  A superior assignment will demonstrate relevant research skills, analysis and critical evaluation rather than just description.

The word count for this assignment is 3000 words with a +10% margin.
