Digital Marketing and Analytics MKT354

Analyse Me Report Structure

Please use the structure below for your Analyse Me report (3000 words)

Coversheet

Name, B number, title of report, module details and word count

Table of Contents

Please use a word generated table of contents as this is more professional (find this under the references tab in word, you need to make sure your headings are ‘heading styles’ – find under styles above).

Introduction

Please introduce the report and what it aims to do. Also add in how the report is structured and a bit of background. Make sure to write in the ‘third’ person, this means that you DO NOT use the words ‘I’ or ‘me’ within the report.

Topic Context

Provide an outline of your social media and blog campaign. Describe what platforms you used and why, what topic you have chosen to blog about and why and then discuss digital marketing and analytics in relation to why you are using these tools and what you hoped to achieve. For example you might discuss Big Data, Trends in Digital, Uses of Social Media (only a paragraph and make sure to reference).

Target User of your Blog

You need to describe the target user of your blog, add in an empathy map (use the mural template we used in class at the start of term) and answer the 3 basic questions – User behaviour - What are the actions taken by your user, Touchpoints - What channels does the user use to reach you and AttitudesEmotions - What attitude or emotion does the journey evoke.

SEO – explain how you have tried to use tactics to get your blog listed on search engines, discuss what your strategy was, what tips did you implement and how did you ensure blogger.com was set up  to get noticed on search engines.

Data Analysis

This section should include your google analytics reports (listed below) as we discussed during the live sessions. You will find these reports under the reports tab in the left hand side of your GA homepage. Present each chart/graph as a screenshot that MUST include your property name, which has your name as advised  when you created your GA property. After each chart/graph you need to discuss what this means in relation to how successful you have been.

You need to answer these questions after each graph:

  • Was your campaign successful
  • What lessons have you learnt
  • What would you do differently for your next campaign.

These should be built into the narrative of your report under each graph/chart. You can support your GA analytics with social media analytics if you want to add more strength to your discussion (please do NOT USE blogger data as this is spammed and no accurate) You need to then outline if you have been successful or not and why as a summary paragraph for your data analysis?

It is essential that you discuss and analyse the following reports:

  • User Acquisition Report
  • Events Report
  • Demographic Details Report
  • Pages and Screens Report

Conclusion

Conclude by summing up what you did and highlight the important points along the way.

Reflective Statement (500 words)

The purpose of this reflection is for you to show your progress as a student about your understanding, knowledge and skills. It can also promote critical thinking about the various topics (Wallin & Adawi, 2018).

The purpose of this is not to report what was said in the class (or reading or workshops), but it is your view of what you have learnt and your insights on any of the aspects presented. While you may want to allude to the key ideas presented in workshops, you need to reflect on how this has stimulated some other thoughts for you. It is recommended that after each class students should write a summary of the session as this helps you when thinking about the influence of the topic and your understanding and other ideas.

Please choose 3 learning interventions from class and use the following questions to reflect on these:

The following questions may help you write your reflective examples (use some of these to structure your 500 words):

1) What did I learn? What there anything new to me? Was there something that changed my views and why? What themes could I analyse, and do I view as important? How did the various topics link to previous learning and other (work) experiences that I have had?

2) Was there anything that I did not understand? What went against my own (pre-existing) ideas? Why? What was less comprehensible? Why? Were there any questions that left me puzzled?

3) What difficulties, if any, have I experienced as part of the learning process?

4) What specific contribution has the module made to your thinking? What has each section taught you? How relevant will it be for you in other studies (e.g., other modules)?

5) How does this support your development as a student and in your future employment? Make a note of and reflect on the changes in your thinking that have come about.

Please remember this is about YOU and YOUR learning and not an opportunity to complain about the module.
