  2. Critically analyse and understand how the application of work psychology frameworks, tools, and concepts can assist the HR practitioner in addressing current workplace issues
  3. Critically analyse and integrate work psychology research and knowledge to formulate an informed opinion on current workplace issues
  4. Evaluate and formulate human resource strategies in response to topical workplace issues which are informed by psychological theory and research

Performance will be assessed using HBS Grading Criteria and Mark scheme.

Guidance for improvement will be given in writing on the Assessment Feedback Form or via Canvas within 4 weeks of submission.

For each day or part day up to five days after the published deadline, coursework submitted late will have the numeric grade reduced by 10 grade points until or unless the numeric grade reaches 40 for levels 4, 5 and 6 or 50 for level 7 (PG). Where the numeric grade awarded for the assessment is less than 40 for level 4, 5 and 6, or 50 for level 7, no lateness penalty will be applied. However, if a submission is more than 5 working

days after the published deadline, a grade of zero will be awarded.

Assignment Title: The Role of Work Psychology in the Post-Covid Workplace

Description of the assignment, task, content and structure:

Work psychology helps understanding human behaviour in the workplace, allowing the HR function to create effective recommendations. Consensus suggests that Covid-19 has resulted in irreversible change in the workplace with the CIPD stating there is “a high probability that there will be no return to business-as-usual post-crisis.”

Choose 1 of the following HR related issues and critically discuss the way work psychology can inform thinking in that area:

  • Dispersed and Virtual Working
  • Work-Life Balance and Well-being The Report should include:
  1. A title of The Role of Work Psychology in the Post-Covid Workplace
  2. An executive summary summarising the contents of the report. (approx. 100 words)
    1. An introduction which introduces the reader in more detail to your chosen theme and how it is relevant to the modern workplace. (approx. 200 words)
    2. An overview of a relevant theory linked to the chosen theme to explain it from a theoretical perspective. (approx. 300 words)
    3. A literature review containing a review of current and relevant literature in the chosen topic area and linking it to the modern workplace. (approx. 500 words)
    4. A brief conclusion of the literature review. (approx. 200 words)
    5. A recommendations section containing 3 recommendations for organisations to implement in the workplace based on the findings of your literature review. (approx. 200 words)
