Instructions
You should prepare and submit a written project report, in accordance with the information and instructions provided in Appendix-A (page 4 of this document).
Word count: Your word count should not exceed 1500 words.
Individual report to be submitted by each student.
Marking Criteria for assessment is based on the generic marking criteria for level 7 detailed in the Programme Handbook and Moodle page.
Specifically, for this coursework component, the submission should demonstrate:
- Clear understanding of the background of, and the methodology to be adopted for, the dissertation.
- Evidence of completion of a preliminary literature review. This may include reading of pertinent journal and conference papers, books, and use of other resources including supporting evidence from current or past projects.
- High quality of communication skills and overall presentation of the written document including correct referencing.

You are expected to submit work by the submission date specified at the start of the assignment specification. - This assignment is to be completed individually.

- Key background information: You should include pertinent information about the choice and need of the chosen research topic, and also include concise background information about your project.
- Brief Literature Review: You should also include a brief overview of available literature which is relevant to your research. Please note that the literature review you include is not expected to be an exhaustive one – as your final dissertation report may contain later on.
- Project Methodology: You should include a clear plan of action/methodology which you have envisaged for the successful completion of your dissertation.
- Project Plan: You should include a suitable project schedule diagram – this may be a bar chart, a table, or a Gantt chart.
Your report word count should not exceed 1500 words. The number of words in the list of references does not count in the 1500 words.
