The summative assessment for this module will consist of a 15 minutes PowerPoint presentation (around 10-12 slides). Here is the tentative guide to develop ppt. slides:

1. Title of the assignment. (1 slide)
2. Explore and identify the health needs of a chosen community (e.g. mental health, nutrition, physical inactivity, access to healthy foods, teenage pregnancy, access to health services, poverty, unemployment, violence, safe drinking water, pollution, housing problems etc.) (2 slides).
3. Identify a community development programme/intervention (based on the approaches/models/frameworks). (1 slide)
4. Write aims and objectives to work with communities to address the identified public health issue. (1 slide)
5. Using relevant evidence, you will be required to analyse community development approaches within your chosen locality and public health problem. (2 slides).
6. Finally, discuss the strengths and weaknesses of community development working for health (2 slides)
7. Evaluate your proposed programme/intervention. (1 slide)
8. Reference. (1 slide)

Note: You will present your work in a pre-recorded video format, or as annotated PowerPoint slides.

Formative assignment: 3-minute presentation

You will present a 3-minute presentation to your peers in class outlining the community and the health issue that is of interest to you.

This formative task will enable you to practice your presentation and the feedback from peers and tutors will assist you in the summative task.

The date for the formative assessment will be agreed with your group tutor in advance.
