- Using your FDS tutorial create the enclosure fire of a 0.6m x 0.6m x 0.6m enclosure with a 40mm opening to the front of the enclosure.(10 Marks)
- Manipulate your 40mm opening FDS tutorial input file by changing the soot yield from 0.01 to 0.03. Comment on the impact of the increased soot yield and the impact to the compartment. (Note: you will need to create a separate folder for the increased soot yield file to ensure that data generated is not over written) (20 Marks)
- Manipulate your 40mm opening FDS tutorial input file by changing the opening width to the following (note Soot Yield to be maintained as 0.01 as per original FDS input file):
a) 60mm
b) 100mm
c)600mm
Comment on the impact to the temparture and velocity outputs with the changing width of the opening and the impact to the compartment.
(Note: you will need to create 3 separate folders for each of the additional openings to ensure that data generated is not over written) (30 Marks)
- Discuss in detail the following methods of analysis used in a Qualitative Design Review and how these methods can be used to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulation Part B requirements:
