Assessment: 2 is a group project that will require students to analyse two Australian listed public companies using the techniques learned in the unit.
The group project consists of a written report (35%). Each group should consist of 3 to 5 members. Full details provided on Blackboard – see Assessment Folder.
Value: This assessment task accounts for 35% of your final mark in ACCT5021 Accounting for Managers. Marking guide: see Blackboard Assessment folder for full details.
The soft copy of your work must also be submitted via Turnitin on Blackboard by the due date and time.
Report format: Your report should include a cover page (see Blackboard/Assessment Folder/Report 2), brief executive summary, introduction, body (using sub-headings based upon questions 1 to 6 above) and a conclusion (with the recommendation to your investing client). Your assignment must be typed using 12 point font, 1 line spacing, with 2.5cm margins, and printed single-sided using A4-sized paper. Only one staple in the left-hand top corner.
Report length: The maximum length of the report is 500 words, excluding cover page and references. Please, do not exceed the word count. Note, that it is the quality, not the length of the report that determines the grade of the assignment.
Referencing: You can refer to real-world cases, recent news, book chapters, research papers, and annual reports to support your arguments or analysis. Do NOT use another student’s paper or a website as your reference. This report must be your own work. All your references must be properly cited in your content and included in the reference list at the end of the report. Cover Sheet and student declaration of originality - see Blackboard Assessment folder.
Group Member Appraisal Form: Each student must submit a group member appraisal form appraising the performance of each of the members of your group. Your appraisal percentage will be determined by your tutor based on the submissions from your fellow group members. You will then receive this percentage of your groups` assignment mark. For example, if the group assignment scores 16 out of 20 but you have an appraisal score of 50% then you will receive 8 out of 20 for the assignment.
Feedback: Assessment: 2 feedback will be provided in the workshops following the submission of the assessment.
