Background
In this module you will explore strategy in the contemporary business context, including an examination of global economic systems, instability, circular economy, new business practices, disruption, and business model innovation. You will examine traditional and contemporary approaches to strategy, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement, and consider corporate, business, functional and network strategies.
The summative assessment strategy for this module is underpinned by two pieces of assessment.The first is a strategic plan based on a self-selected case study with improvement recommendations and in the second assessment,you will conduct a strategic analysis of a disruptive innovation.
Description of the assessment
Assessment 1 (30%): Disruptive innovation presentation – INDIVIDUAL WORK
1. Prepare and verbally present a “disruptive innovation” you believe will help an organisation develop competitive advantage and provide a meaningful growth strategy.This will involve “pitching” disruptive innovation idea to the audience and presenting them your strategic analysis and impact it will have on chosen organisation/industry/sector.
2. Use Microsoft PowerPoint or other suitable presentation software.
3. The presentation will also have a viva voce based enquiry. ( Q&A session after presentation)
4. Maximum 10-15 minutes.
Deadline: 12th Week is presentation week with deadline to upload slides 14th July 2023 via Turnitin.

Minimum Secondary Research Source Requirements for both assignments:
Level HE7 - It is expected that the Reference List will contain between fifteen to twenty sources. As a MINIMUM the Reference List should include four refereed academic journals and five academic books.
Important and helpful information
Late work will be subject to the penalties:
· Up to 7 calendar days late = 10 marks subtracted but if the assignment would normally gain a pass mark,then the final mark to be no lower than the pass mark for the assignment.
· More than 7 calendar days late = This will be counted as non-submission and no marks will be recorded.
Late submission of assessments on refer and those which are graded Pass/Fail only, is not permitted. Students may request an extension to the original published deadline date as described below.
